City of opposites

Sarajevo is a city in northern Balkans, where three different faiths and cultures meet and sometimes clash - as it happened during the bitter and bloody civil war in ex-Yugoslavia, between 1991 and 1995.

Today the peace reigns again, but the country is still divided in three nationalities and cultures. All living together, yet tensions and friction between them remains.

Perhaps least friction is visible in the capital Sarajevo, which is an example of an open, multi-cultural city.
